This 1/5 scale Kyosho ARTF Macchi M.39 Schneider trophy racer formed the basis of a ‘rework’ by Fighteraces to transform the basic model into something with a little more scale fidelity. All film covering was removed from the wings before refinishing in glass cloth & epoxy. The ‘flat plate’ tail surfaces were redesigned with an airfoil section before being rebuilt & again finished in glass cloth & epoxy. The float struts were faired with streamlined epoxy glass mouldings & simulated corrugates radiators were added to the wings upper & lower surfaces. The whole model was then fully resprayed in the correct colours & markings. Power was provided by a Hacker A50 electric motor on 6s LiPo’s with servos from MKS & radio from Jeti.
