Fokker 70

This model was commissioned by an overseas client & was designed & built entirely from scratch over a 2 year period. At 1/6 scale, the overall length is 5.15 meter (203″) with a wingspan of 4.68 meters (184″). The model is of entirely composite construction utilising much carbon fibre as well as a sandwich construction glass/airex/glass vacuum bagged construction. Powered by a pair of 195mm Schubeler EDF units mated to 400A ECS’s and 14s, 22,000Mah batteries, the airframe has to be built as light as was safely possible due to the weight of the power train components. The model features a complex 4 section slotted Fowler flap system as well as an adjustable pitch tailplane, speed brakes, wheels brakes & gear doors. Other than the power system, radio system, retract units and tyres, everything was manufactured bespoke for the model in house at Fighteraces.
